GYFC Partners with Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers
Partnership Continues for the 2022 SeasonUpdatedFriday August 12, 2022 byKen Alberti.
Guilford Youth Football & Cheer is once again partnering with Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers for the 2022 season!
Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers (PTSMC) of Guilford will support us in our efforts to maintain a safe environment for our athletes by providing athletic training services at all home games this season.
Athletic trainers are certified, licensed healthcare professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of athletic injury. PTSMC’s Athletic Trainers will manage on-field injuries, injury evaluation and referrals if additional care is needed.
On-field expertise provided will include evaluation, treatment and management of suspected concussions, assessment of sprains, strains and other muscle and joint issues, recommendations for appropriate home care of injuries sustained during participation, and overall health monitoring. In addition, having a healthcare professional on-site will increase communication between injured athletes, parents and coaching staff, and allow for follow-up care throughout the season.
This partnership with PTSMC will allow for direct access to providers and other medical professionals as needed for further evaluation and in-person care for injury, ensuring our athletes have a safe and timely return to participation.
